GOTHRAJEEVIKA
Sustainable Livelihood Generation Programme for ST Community, better known by the name ‘Gothrajeevika’ was formulated to bridge the skill gaps among the tribals in all the fourteen districts in the state. Its main objective is to provide skill development training and encourage the beneficiaries to venture into self-employment basically by forming societies/ventures.The trainings are organised in decentralised manner and hence held in the premises of tribal locations. The resources, raw materials, service and co-ordination for each training session is made available under the tutelage of Centre for Management Development. Various categories of training are offered under the programme, such as dress making, carpentry, construction, driving, plumbing, wiring and masonry. The training is offered in areas most accessible to beneficiaries. 1170 beneficiaries are given training and rendered benefits under the programme. Beneficiaries under all categories (except for driving) are provided food and travel allowances during the programme. The trainings in Wayanad and Attapady completed and steps have been taken to register the self help groups.
